2014 Calendar of events in St Andrew's Church.

May
May 11th                     10.00 am Fr Paul will be licensed as Associate Priest of St Andrew’s Church                                     Burnham on Sea, by the Archdeacon of Wells. Thereafter he will cease to be known                                     as the Curate.

June
June 7th                       Bishop Peter Handcock MA will be collated in Wells Cathedral as the next Bishop of                                     Bath & Wells and will begin his ministry among us. There will be further details about                                     the service nearer the time. Time 2.30p.m.

June 14th                     Churchyard Gardening party
                                    We are looking to tidy up areas of the churchyard and reduce some of the bushes etc.                                     Please meet at 9.30 am onwards. Please bring your own gardening tools. We will                                     finish by 12 noon. All offers of help – children included – very welcome.

June 28th                     Ordination of Sharon Eldergill as Priest at 4.00p.m. at Wells Cathedral

June 29th                     (Feast of Ss Peter & Paul) 10.0am – Sharon’s first Eucharist as celebrant
                                    To mark this event there will be a shared picnic in Church & grounds following the                                     service. Lists will go up for us to sign up to savoury or sweet

August
August 2nd                  7.30 pm at St. Andrew’s there will be an evening of World War 1 stories, poems and                                     songs, ending with a brief act of commendation. Refreshments will follow.

August 3rd                   3.00 pm the Civic Service at St. Andrew’s will mark the beginning of World War 1.

August 4th                   the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the war, there will be Wreath Laying at the                                    War Memorial Hospital (time to be arranged). An Evening Vigil will end with the                                     tolling of ther bell at 11.00 pm

September 20th.          Quiet Day. There will be a ‘Quiet Day’. A list will be placed in church during August                                     for you to register your interest.

December
Dec 1st                        St Andrew's Day - Shared Lunch
